You’ve probably heard that if it were easy everyone would be doing it? Well, that’s true. Many believe success is based on having a good idea before everyone else, or being at the right place at the right time, or just being lucky. While all of those things may make up parts of the equation, the lions share of your success quotient will be made up of your vision and you ability and determination to solve problems.

You must have a direction. You must know what it is you want to accomplish. You have to see yourself getting there vividly clear. That is critical. It can’t be a wish. Wishes are too easy to abandon or just sigh over. You really have to see and expect your desires to come true. It’s your expectations that lock them in.

When you have your vision fully locked in and as you begin to move toward it, the real work begins. This is where most fail. Actually it’s where everyone fails. Those that ultimately succeed just fail over and over again and never quit because of it. At this point, your degree of success will be in direct proportion to your ability and desire to solve problems along the way.

Success isn’t meant for weak souls. Success is always hard work and even pain. No project ever comes without road blocks. As Art Williams used to say, “Nothing good comes easy.” As much as you’d like it to be, success isn’t a walk on the beach. You may get to do that one day, but it’s the problem solving that gets you there and keeps you there.

So if you find yourself quitting every-time problems appear, you missed the whole point. It’s in solving those problems that you propel yourself forward. It’s in solving those problems that you create the richness that life has to offer. It is in abandoning project after project, because of those problems, that you join those other timid souls that are doomed to mire in mediocrity.

The difference between those that succeed and those that don’t isn’t whether they have problems or not. Those that succeed simply keep at it in spite of the problems until they get the job done.

I wish you many problems in your journey along your way to success. I also wish you the insight to know what a blessing they really are.

My wife Pattie posted my schedule on Google calendar so my team members could see when I am busy and schedule my time if they want to. By surrendering to this I am finding that most of my time is booked in advance with three-ways and two on ones. This, of course, also makes my time more valuable to both me and my team members.

She also has scheduled all the meetings and functions that I will be at in advance. So every Monday evening is scheduled in advance, also Wednesday evenings, a Sunday conference call that I do with the 14 Diamonds that I have on my team, plus lunch on Thursday and Friday that I have with my two Double Diamonds, the monthly Saturday trainings that we do, Company Convention in April, a team cruise in September, and two quarterly events at home in late July and a holiday party in December.

How do I know who my leaders are? They show up too. Leaders attend the meetings and functions. Leaders are a big part of the team culture. They know how important it is to participate, set the example and promote participation. All of these things keep you in the game and keep your team members in the game. Once you let yourself drift away…you’re toast.

You simply cannot succeed in a big way by being a wondering generality. Commitment is EVERYTHING to your ability to succeed. It keeps you going and it’s how others judge whether they are going to join your business or not. If your sponsoring is down, look in the mirror. You will either see someone who shows up…or not. You will either see someone destined to acquire their dreams…or not.

Leaders show up to succeed….do you?

Best of success,
