Instead of advertising, think developing relationships. An example would be exactly what you and I are doing right now. We participate in blogs like this, help where we can, and people get to know you better. Also, if you don’t have a blog, get one. If you blog everyday, you’ll be surprised how people seek you out over time.
I also like FaceBook. I think it is one of the best relationship tools ever. Here is an article I ran across the other day called The FaceBook Marketing Toolbox, I think you will find it powerfully helpful.
If you are thinking it’s impossible to build relationships online, remember: Good relationships take some effort. Take an interest in others for reasons besides selling them. I don’t have anything offered on my FaceBook site. But I have several who have asked me about various things I have said in day to day conversations.
Of course it’s helpful if you are incredibly charming and funny
Keep at it, you’ll get the hang of it.
