Compress activity and collapse time frames…

September 29th, 2009

Getting there isn’t easy and it isn’t fast. But you can compress it all down into shorter time frames if you want to. Imagine for a moment that you want to mow your lawn. Believe it or not there are two ways you can do it. Let’s say it takes an hour to get the job done. You could do it all at once or you could mow 10 minutes a day worth. Both ways get the job done, but as you might imagine, with very different results.

Lets say you want to sponsor 12 people over the next year. You could do that by sponsoring 1 person per month or, sponsor 12 people in the first month and work to help each of them build their businesses for the the rest of the year. One of these ways will create excitement and momentum and a potential business explosion. The other will get 12 people sponsored, but not much else.

Take what you had planned to do over the next 12 months and make it happen this month. Take what you were going to do this month and do it this week. Take what you were going to do this week and get it done in the next 24 hours. By doing this you are compressing one year’s worth of activity into one month. Over the next 12 months after that you can collapse 12 years worth of accomplishments all the way down into one year.

It’s amazing what you can get done if you put your mind and your activity into it. Over the next 24 hours why not plan out your October to achieve your next rank advancement. It’s a perfect time to do this because October is traditionally one of the two best months in network marketing. After you have your rank advancement for the month planned out, after you have plotted exactly how many appointments and phone calls you must make to hit the next level in October…go get it done in the first ten days of the month!

YOU are about to become a network marketing machine! You’re going to be amazed at the results.

Go Get Em,

Keeping in the game…

September 28th, 2009

I love people that read great books and listen to cd’s and attend seminars. These things keep you in the game.   You can’t win if you don’t stay in the game.  Most people quit because they run out of inspiration.   There is nothing like a tank full of inspiration to keep us dreaming.  Read the books, listen to the cd’s, attend the seminars.   Coach Paul “Bear” Bryant said:

“It’s not the will to win, but the will to prepare to win that makes the difference.”

You have to prepare.  The will to prepare to win is at the heart of all championship play. I guarantee that if the game is coming down to the wire and the scoreboard says it’s all tied up, the team that is the most prepared will win every time.  An hour a day consulting about your business and your life with the experts will make all the difference.

Get out of bed a half hour early, read something that will give you the edge.  Listen to business cd’s in your car instead of one of those goofy stations that plays those same old songs you’ve heard over and over again for the last 10 years.  Attend meetings, conventions and generic seminars.  Listen to the Home Based Business Radio Show every Saturday morning!

Prepare to win and you will win.

Get up off the dadgum mat!

September 26th, 2009

Ok, so you got knocked on your butt, your best guy quit, you didn’t get that special recruit who would have changed everything for you, your company died, your product tastes like fish bait….so what!  Five times NFL Champion football coach, Vince Lombardi said:

“It’s easy to have faith in yourself and have discipline when you’re a winner, when you’re number one.  What you got to have is faith and discipline when you’re not a winner!”

People are failures only after they give up.  We work in the greatest industry in the whole world yet I hear people gripe and moan about some of the smallest most petty stuff.  Did your mommy and daddy not tell you how special you really are?  Don’t you know that you’re a King’s kid and He wants you to win big!  That’s why he gave you all the tools you need to accomplish anything you want! Are you living up to the standards that were set for you eons ago?

Ok, so you got knocked on your butt…get up.  Go fulfill your destiny.   You weren’t built to lose.  Simply don’t accept it.  Oh and that stuff that tastes bad…this is marketing, it doesn’t matter what you think.  What matters is what the other 99% who like it thinks!  Don’t let your emotions take you away from winning big.

The secret of winning, and what separates champions from mere mortals, is that champions keep on keepin on even when they experience disappointment and pain.  Those that NEVER experience winning quit every time it gets tough, or they stub their toe, or they have something else happen in their life that makes it less than perfect.  Winners win because they choose to act like champions!

Choose to act like a champion, get up off that mat!

Getting better…

September 23rd, 2009

Network marketing is a career, not a company.   It’s about working to get better all the time.  Someone once said that MLM is nothing but personal development with a comp plan attached.   I tend to agree with that.  Richard Brooke says:

“How you and I act creates our value in the world … to the people around us like family, friends, coworkers and clients. When we act with excellence, speak with excellence, listen with excellence, and behave as excellent as we can in the moment, we are valued, we are attractive, we are trusted and we are loved.”

So if personal development is such a great thing, how come it’s so tough?  I hate to hear how inadequate I am so darned often.  Every time I read a great self-help book or even a great business “how to” book, I find out something else about myself that I don’t like very much.  Something else I need to begin work on.  I feel like one of those highways that is always under construction.

Yet I know through experience that all the time I spend working on me, is the best time I’ve ever spent.  Yeah, getting better is tough, you’re constantly getting hot asphalt poured on you.  But the road to success is always under construction, you just have to keep working on it.

It’s about their why…

September 22nd, 2009

Network marketing or MLM if you will has far more to do with your prospect’s why than it does with your product.  Tom “Big Al” Schreiter says:

“If your prospects aren’t listening, maybe you might want to change what you’re talking about.  Don’t blame the prospects.  Blame the person giving the presentation.”

Are you throwing up on people?  “My product is the greatest, you have to use it, your hair will grow back, your kids will do better in school, your husband will like you more, the car will get better gas mileage and you’ll lose those 45 pounds of ugly fat that you’re carrying around!  AND…you’ll get all these unbelievable benefits just by taking one convenient 2 pound tablet each morning!”

Have you even considered taking 15 or twenty minutes to find out what is going on in your prospect’s life?  Maybe ask them about their family and really listen to the answers.  Ask them about their career and how it’s going and, again, really listen to the answers.

People love to talk about themselves.  In a brief 15 or 20 minute conversation, if you listen, they will tell you why they would join you.  The problem is, you’re too busy throwing up on them to find out.

Relax!  Find out what their why is and you’ll find out what their wedge is.  A wedge is that powerful something you can use to drive between their current reality and the one they could have working with you.

Network Marketing Survival Guide For Donald Trump

May 5th, 2009

In case you haven’t heard yet, The Donald purchased a MLM/Network Marketing company.  So what does Mr. Trump know about running a successful MLM company?  Nothing!

Dear Mr. Trump, it is too important for you to succeed/not screw things up in our industry for me to remain silent and let your deal just happen.  Well, let it happen without me throwing in my two cents.  I want you to win big.

First, put your name on it.  Network Marketers are traditionally a bunch of Rodney Dangerfield’s.  Everyone thinks when they participate in MLM “they don’t get no respect!”  For the most part, they’re right.  They hear “pyramid scheme” far more than they hear “thank you for the opportunity.”  Donald Trump is a credible and potentially powerful name in the Network Marketing industry.  Provided you don’t blow it.

Products…I understand you have purchased a company that makes custom nutritionals for your customers.  Big, Big mistake if you choose to continue down that path.  The last thing you need in a day and age of the FDA big brother is a bunch of MLMers running around playing doctor.  Nutritionals are good, custom nutritionals is a guaranteed failure.  Have a good company build you a nutritional product line with custom formulas and great packaging.  Price them higher than anyone else in the industry.  Price and perceived quality are synonymous.  Don’t build any products that people will make claims that they cure something….the FDA will make your life hell.

Compensation…never, never, never pay out more than 45%.  You are going to have a cost of goods sold in the 15%-18% range, you simply won’t have enough money to stay open long term paying out 55% or more.  Distributors love to say “we pay out more than anyone.”  However when it comes to running a company, distributors are dumb.  Also, look at a unilevel with a multi-tiered bonus pool or a binary.  Do not launch a matrix.  The last thing you want to do is change your comp plan in mid-stream.

Cash…Bring enough cash to survive growing your MLM company.  We have had a few big shots start companies in our industry.  They don’t love MLM, they think it will make them rich from day one.  If you are willing to deal with a little pain, get the heck away from our industry.  We don’t need another big name know it all sticking his mug in where it don’t belong.

Location, Location, Location…stay out of New York.  Go to Dallas, Texas.  Abundance of trained people available and good corporate types from our industry hang around there.

The Suits…Hire experienced people to run your company.  You need MLM experience.

Ok, bud, I think you get the idea.  This is a great industry that you can make even greater.  But unless you do it right from the start, you’re going to fail.  That’s bad for all of us that love it like I do.  So just do it right.

Eye will strike up the brand

May 4th, 2009

If it’s IMPORTANT to CBS why isn’t it important to you.  What are you doing to build your personal name brand?  Do you have your own website in your name (http://GregArnold.com) do you have a blog that you regularly write in and in your name? (http://GregArnoldBlog.com)  Do you regularly write articles? Are you listed in Who’s Who In MLM? (http://whoswhoinmlm.com) It’s only $49.95 for a lifetime inclusion.

If CBS thinks it’s important to promote themselves, why is it bad for Network Marketers?  Think about what it will take for you to become a MLM / Network Marketing name brand and go to work on it.  Don’t forget getting to the top of your company’s pay plan.  It’s always helpful to be the best.

Eye will strike up the brand.
