According to an article published in the European Journal of Lipid Science and Technology supplementing Omega 3 Fatty Acids can not only reduce your bad cholesterol and raise the good, but it also lowers your insulin resistance. If you are trying to lose weight, this is huge. Insulin resistance makes it almost impossible to lose weight. It is also a major contributing factor to Type II Diabetes and Metabolic Inflammation.

What was so impressive about this study was it wasn’t one of those things where they fed rats twice their body weight in omega 3′s to get their results. They did a blind placebo study using only 1000mg of omega 3′s on humans! This is a highly affordable dosage that you can easily find almost anyplace.

If you decide to try this for yourself I want to caution you about trying to duplicate it using seed oils. You need to use fish oils to get the same results. This is exciting! Remember, taking fish oils are not a substitute for eating right with a little exercise thrown in, but adding omega 3′s to your supplement regime could yield some positive results!

You may not know this but your brain is one of the largest energy draws in your body. When it comes to calorie burn, it’s a real pig. That may be the single biggest reason that we aren’t still living it trees. A couple million years ago our brains were about the same size as our chimp cousins. As we evolved though, we began to think about how we could change our environment.

The more we thought, the more energy our brains needed. We began to look for energy dense (calorie rich foods) to feed our brains. We started to crave them. That was all well and good before the food industry started to make it easy for us to satisfy those cravings.

Stay away from processed mac and cheese, simple carb pastas, fast food and Christmas cookies which are all sugars and you’ll be fine. Your brain is designed to burn fat. Cut down on the sugars and carbs and it will do it’s job and you’ll get and stay thin.

Try not to think about it too much, just do it!

“…Brains are calorically demanding organs. Our distant ancestors had small ones. Australopithecus afarensis, for example, who lived some three million years ago, had a cranial capacity of about four hundred cubic centimetres, which is roughly the same as a chimpanzee’s. Modern humans have a cranial capacity of about thirteen hundred cubic centimetres. How, as their brains got bigger, did our forebears keep them running? According to what’s known as the Expensive Tissue Hypothesis, early humans compensated for the energy used in their heads by cutting back on the energy used in their guts; as man’s cranium grew, his digestive tract shrank. This forced him to obtain more energy-dense foods than his fellow-primates were subsisting on, which put a premium on adding further brain power. The result of this self-reinforcing process was a strong taste for foods that are high in calories and easy to digest; just as it is natural for gorillas to love leaves, it is natural for people to love funnel cakes.”

How Come I’m Not Losing Weight When I’m Following the Better Body System Plan…

Troubleshooting Stuff:

1. Hidden Sugars

The processed food industry loves to put sugar in everything! Even in some processed lunch meats. Be sure you use fresh carved lean deli meats for your protein snacks. Also watch for sugar, high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) and honey as ingredients in your foods. By the way BBQ sauce, ketchup, etc are loaded with sugar.

2. Hidden Carbohydrates

The processed food industry loves carbohydrates because they are cheap. All those mac and cheese instant meals and whatever they can think of to flavor pasta with will kill you and your weight loss. Also things like milk. Even non-fat milk has tons of carbs in it. High protein bars are loaded with carbohydrates. Just because it says high protein doesn’t mean it’s low carbs. In fact, even if it says low carbs doesn’t make it true. Read the labels, not the front, the back. If it has 15 carbs or more, don’t eat it. If it has more carbs than proteins, don’t eat it. Never eat carbohydrates after 3 or 4 in the afternoon. This will throw you in to fat storing mode.

3. Starvation

You have to eat every 2-3 hours to permanently lose weight. If you are waiting more than 3 hours between meals, your body goes into starvation mode and shuts down your fat burning process. It’s ok to feel a little hungry but it isn’t ok to stop eating. The exception is at night when you have gone into rest mode.

4. Get A Food Scale

Most people don’t have a clue what 2 ounces looks like. If you are just grabbing a handful of meat, it’s probably too much. Stick to the plan, particularly in the first two weeks. That means weighing your food. Until you know what 2 ounces looks like, you don’t know what 2 ounces looks like.

5. Metabolic Inflammation

Half the population has metabolic inflammation. The problem is there is only one detectable short term symptom of it…it is very difficult to lose weight when you have it! If you have tried everything else but you still can’t lose weight, order some Yoli Truth. Truth is loaded with antioxidants which help reduce metabolic inflammation. The good news is you can add Truth to your water and it makes a nice snack that you can drink any time.

6. Sleep

Many people don’t get 8 hours of sleep every night. When you miss sleep you don’t don’t produce one hormone that causes you to be hungry all the time and you do produce another that causes you to crave carbohydrates. Between lack of one and over abundance of another, you’re a mess. To get more sleep, try drinking your YES shake in the evenings. This will help a bunch.

7. Drink Enough Water (This is IMPORTANT!)

Drink at least half your body weight in ounces of water each day. This will flush out all your toxins that may be causing you to hold on to extra weight. Also it helps you flush out excess fat and water. Believe it or not, if you don’t drink enough water it will cause you to retain water.

Here are my first few thoughts. The obvious one is wow. They did a marvelous job. More important though is this; Most of us fail because we are not able to powerfully convey our thoughts to others. We simply do not have the training and experience to pass on what we know is true for us. Even if we have those skills, we simply cannot duplicate them through others.

The 13 minute Better Body Video can be the tool that absolutely changes your life in 2012. It can change your life in two ways. First it will show you that you can lose the weight that you want, now and forever.

Second, The 13 minute Better Body Video will turn YOU into a powerful messenger. All you have to do is share this 13 minute video with those you love or potential prospects. Let this 13 minute video do all the work for you. It is as easy as that.

Take a look, see if you don’t agree with me. Hey, it’s only 13 minutes long, what have you got to lose?

Watch here: http://www.BetterBodyVideo.com then call me at 702-940-9789!

All protein supplements are NOT created equal…

So you’ve found out that you need about 50% of your current body weight in grams of protein every day in order to safely lose weight. You’ve learned that you typically lose 50% fat and 50% muscle with most diets. Since you know that your heart is all muscle, dieting scares the heck out of you, or it should. You’re concerned where to get protein supplements and what kind to get.

Here are a couple things you should be aware of. First, not all protein supplements are created equally. Some are more available to your body than others. For example, there are supplements out there that contain what is basically melted cow’s hooves as its protein source. Not only is that as disgusting as it sounds but it is only about 5% bio-available. If the label says 20 grams of protein, its only worth about 1 gram to you.

Rice protein is another source that is becoming popular. You should know that rice protein is only about 63% bio-available. Frankly only whey protein is 100% bio-available. But even there, not all whey proteins are equal. Most whey proteins, a milk derivative, come from cows that are raised in a manner that many find objectionable. These proteins are also greatly heated in the process of producing them so they lose a great deal of the value they have in a more raw state.

What should you look for? I recommend what is referred to as undenatured or non-denatured whey. This form of whey comes from range raised happy cows. Unlike heavily processed protein, which accounts for the vast majority of the market, only undenatured whey contains the three precursors your body needs to produce Glutathione, your body’s master antioxidant. Non-denatured whey is minimally processed and biologically active to maintain the full range of all the nutrients present in fresh raw milk.

Why is this important? According to Dr. Stephen Langer, M.D., “Glutathione is the body’s most important intracellular antioxidant. It works inside the cells, quenching the free radicals that are formed through normal cellular processes. Glutathione is present in every cell in the body and in all bodily fluids. Without it, we would be quickly overcome by free radicals.”

“Not only is Glutathione a potent antioxidant; it also helps maintain the activity of other crucial antioxidants like vitamins C and E. When these antioxidants have done their job, Glutathione helps reactivate them so they can keep working.”

“In addition to its antioxidant properties, Glutathione is a master detoxifier. It’s particularly important within the organs responsible for cleansing our bodies, particularly the liver and kidneys but also the lungs and the intestines. Here it works by helping to detoxify and break down the chemicals and pollutants that we ingest or inhale, or those that are produced within our bodies. Elevating Glutathione levels is one of the best ways to support our natural detoxifying processes.”

“Glutathione is also important to the immune system. It’s essential to the production and replication of white blood cells known as lymphocytes, and it’s particularly vital to the activity of specific lymphocytes called “natural killer” or NK cells.”

“When you combine a lack of dietary Glutathione with a reduced ability to generate Glutathione internally, it’s no surprise that we see much lower levels in older populations and it’s easy to see why supplementation can be so beneficial. There are over 85,000 published studies on Glutathione, and the research shows that levels begin to wane around the mid 40s. After we reach age 60 we see rapid and dramatic declines in Glutathione levels. ”

A major hindrance to losing weight is metabolic inflammation. Since a major problem in losing weight is metabolic inflammation (studies show that 50% of us are affected by it and don’t know it), Glutathione would be very helpful indeed. Increased Glutathione (antioxidant) levels may reduce or eliminate metabolic inflammation altogether.

So you’re looking for whey protein, look for undenatured or non-denatured whey, it may just make all the difference for you.

It’s almost time, you’re really ready to see it through this time. As they drop the ball on the new year, you’re going to be all gun-ho on your new diet plan. But as it drops down the pole your resolution weakens and by the time it hits the bottom, you’ve quit your diet. So sad.

Ok, so it doesn’t happen that fast, more than likely you’ll make it through the first week. But by week two you’re probably starting to rationalize the whole thing away. Who can blame you? Starvation isn’t all that fun. A lifetime of starvation is impossible. If God made you fat, who are you to go against the will of God?

Isn’t this what we do? I certainly have. It wasn’t until this last year that I found out how to judge your diet in just the first few days. Here is what I found. If you feel hungry all the time. If you have cravings that you can’t resist without feeling guilty. If you just know instinctively that this isn’t going to get it for you long range…you’re on the wrong kind of eating program.

You should know in the first few days that “Hey, this is easy. I can do this forever!” That is what I discovered the first part of last year and it has been easy ever since. Ok, so I’m gloating. But that is a whole lot better than bloating! I’ve been blogging about the things I have learned over the last year. If you want to get the weight off now and forever, write me, I’d be happy to teach you how.

We all know that low carb, high protein diets will cause us to lose weight. No doubt about it, happens every time. However, diets high in meats tend to cause our PH levels to turn acidic. Being acidic will cause you to stop losing weight. I know, it seems to be one of those catch 22 things. The solution is simple however, supplementation of calcium, magnesium and potassium not only will keep you in a more alkaline state it will also help keep you regular. At 56 the regularity thing is far more important to me than it used to be.

Other benefits of calcium are that it aids in maintaining bone health, dental care, prevention of colon cancer and reduces obesity. We need calcium right from birth till old age.

Magnesium is also needed to keep muscle and nerve functioning normal and heart beat rhythmic. It also helps to support a healthy immune system, and keeps bones strong. Magnesium also helps to regulate blood sugar levels, thereby promoting normal blood pressure and supports energy metabolism and protein synthesis. Magnesium has a positive effect on treatment of disorders such as cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and diabetes.

Other health benefits of potassium include help with blood pressure, anxiety and stress, muscular strength, metabolism, heart and kidney disorders, water balance, electrolytic functions, nervous system and other general health benefits. Potassium, the third most abundant mineral in human body, is the synonym for health insurer. It contains the qualities for maintaining a high level of human well-being and a cheerful lifestyle.

So before you start anyone’s high protein diet, make sure they recommend supplementation of calcium, magnesium and potassium. It will solve the acidity problem associated with most high protein diets and help you stay healthy.

At a minimum, these usually consisted of everyday objects such as bowls, combs, and other trinkets, along with food. Wealthier Egyptians could afford to be buried with jewelry, furniture, and other valuables, which made them targets of tomb robbers. In the early Dynastic Period, tombs were filled with daily life objects, such as furniture, jewelry and other valuables. They also contained many pottery and stone vessels.

As a general rule, over time, all of the contents of the tomb would deteriorate. Mummies of people, cats, even beetles, everything disappears over time. Except one curious item that has proven to last forever. Even after being buried for thousands of years, there it lay, perfectly preserved. Even tomb robbers seem to have respected the sanctity of this one special remnant. Revealed here for the first time, I give you the Christmas Fruitcake, lord knows, no one else will take it.

Merry Christmas everyone!
